JSC KOMFORTS – a company having experience of 20 years in the sector of renewable energy. The basic activity profile of the company includes designing, production, installation, warranties and post-warranty service of biomass boiler plant equipment. JSC KOMFORTS produces equipment,  from biomass transportation mechanisms (moving floors, fuel containers, various types of transporters, fuel supply systems) to fuel gas purification and ash discharge equipment  (multi-cyclones, fuel gas condensers, dry and wet ash discharge). The basic products of the company are as follows:  angular-running gates front furnaces with capacity from 0.5 MW to 10 MW and boilers with capacity from 0.1 MW to 10 MW. We offer implementation of biomass burning projects with capacity to 10 MW per one unit and total project capacity of 30 MW. We implement both brand-new projects, and partial replacement of equipment, as well as raising efficiency in already existing projects. The side-profile of the company comprises: production of the domestic boilers for solid fuel and wood pellets with capacity from 20 kW to 100 kW, provision of metal working services and heat production (JSC KOMFORTS produces heat for a part of Tukums town).

JSC KOMFORTS has implemented more than 50 biomass boiler house projects with angular-running gates front furnaces, and, in total mounted more than 75 angular-running gates front furnaces. The energy produced in the furnaces may be used for production of hot water, steam and electricity (steam or ORC system). In total, JSC KOMFORTS has produced several thousands of industrial boilers.

The basic markets are Baltic, Scandinavian and CIS countries. In relation to the Baltic countries – the widest experience is certainly gained in the Latvian market where some of the equipment manufactured by JSC KOMFORTS is mounted in almost each city and village. Several projects have been implemented also in Estonia. In 2010 the first largest project in Lithuania was completed – a biomass boiler house UAB „Mažeikų šilumos tinklai”  with capacity of 8 MW. More than 20 projects have been implemented in the Scandinavian market, 15 of which are completely automatized boiler houses which operate without permanent presence of the staff. Each year 3-5 projects are implemented in the Russian market. The company has implemented projects also in Spain, Byelorussia, Ukraine, England. 

Customers of JSC KOMFORTS are both international power industry concerns, and small heat producers, as well as industrial enterprises of various industries (wood-processing, gardening, food producers, etc.), for which heat, hot water and steam are necessary within the production process.

Engineers and constructors of JSC KOMFORTS improve the existing and create new biomass burning equipment so that to reach maximum energy efficiency. The basic principles of our automatics are burning of fuel (biomass – wood chip, crumbled bark, etc.) more within the gasification process instead of aggressive burning. As a result, we have increased the resources of the furnace technical-economic indicators, for example, fuel consumption is decreased and efficiency of equipment is increased. We offer a remote approach of JSC KOMFORTS engineering specialists to our customers for control of equipment automatics via internet, thereby operatively checking the parameters of the boiler house and consulting a customer about it.

In 2010, JSC KOMFORTS completed a project – Delivery and installation of fuel gas cooling and condensation equipment for woodchip boiler in the boiler plant in Ludza (Latvia) in cooperation with scientists of Riga Technical University. The particular fuel gas condenser has increased the efficiency of the aforementioned boiler plant by 25% (usually it is 10...30% depending on the factors affecting humidity of fuel (woodchip), fuel gas temperature, etc. affecting factors) by using the thermal energy of the outgoing fuel gas. The measurements made by the fuel gas condenser, as well as test results confirm considerable perspectives of the product regarding the future rojects of JSC KOMFORTS.

JSC KOMFORTS has certified its products in accordance with EU Directive  97/23 EK (PED – Pressure equipment directive), allowing to produce industrial vertical boilers with maximum heat carrier operating temperature 130^oC and maximum permissible operating pressure of 16 bars. We have made furnaces for solid fuel (humidity to 35%) with a water casing which considerably increases the range of the fuel to be used: wood pellets, wood pellets with grass admixture, straw pellets, peat pellets, sunflower husk pellets, mixture of woodchip and milled peat, etc.
